I know this is a strange request, but can I drop Chamber, The Facility, Kimura, and Ink? Chamber doesn't fit with the rest of the cast and I reevaluated what I wanted to do so The Facility is no longer part of my plans.

It's a little strange, but dropping characters is no problem. I think, as a board, we'd rather have characters opened for writers who really want to use them as opposed to someone whose plans they don't really fit with!

Yeah, it's no problem. You can still replace those characters if you want, jelly. Just post up a revised claims list here.

So I don't really want this to be a problem, can I claim the civilization of Atlantis if I trade it out for the Punisher? I don't want any characters associated with it or any wallpaper to accompany it, just the civilization itself?

Just looking for a clarification on a claiming rule that doesn't seem to be in the rules. What exactly is the rule on claiming groups/organizations? Looking at the claims list, some people have groups claimed without individual members, some have groups claimed with just the leader, some with two or three members. What constitutes a group that needs to have a set number of individual members claimed first and how many have to be claimed? Etc.
I'd just like an official ruling if that's okay. No rush, but the official word might affect some plans.

And lol that I posted that right after Jordan's request. That was unintentional.

Reading your first post,I definitely thought it was a reaction to my post! Haha!
Anyway, the way I've been operating (and the way I think a lot of admins have operated in the past and the present) is just a case-by-case scenario. I'll open up a thread with the admins and see if we can hammer down a more official ruling to make things easier for you. For right now, though, just run any questions specific to you by us.

Yeah, as Jordan said, it's normally case-by-case, but we'll get to hammering out details.

EDIT: I've decided against claiming this as my second title because right now I've decided a different way to figure out what my second title will be. When my new method to figure this out is complete, I will repost a claims list. Sorry for prematurely posting a claims list for a second title.

Adrini and I would like to co-write a title, so we'll at least post a claims list and let the admins decide whether we're allowed to yet or not. We weren't sure if some of the Wallpaper or group claims would count, so we can edit things if need be.
TITLE: Fantastic Four WRITERS: DiscipleofBob, Adrini SUBTITLE: The First Family of Four HEROES: Reed Richards (Mr Fantastic), Ben Grimm (Thing), Susan Storm (Invisible Woman), Johnny Storm (Human Torch) VILLAINS: Victor Von Doom (Dr Doom), Lucia Von Bardas, Harvey Elder (Mole Man), Annhilus, Galactus, U-Foes (Vector, Vapor, Ironclad, X-Ray), Kl'rt (Super Skrull) SUPPORT: Jim Hammond, Hank Pym, Janet Van Dyne UNDEFINED: Lyja, Namor, Silver Surfer, Ultron, Vision, Kang WALLPAPER: Franklin Richards, Valeria Von Doom, Doom's Generals (Divinity, Dorma, Lancer, Shakti, Technarx), Alicia Masters, Willie the Mailman, HERBIE, Atlanteans, Yancy Street Gang, Moloids)

I don't see why it shouldn't be approved.
For those curious, any writer who has proven themself (for Dob and adrini that's 2 issues and countless successful titles in the past) can claim a co-written title. If it's a solo title, the writer must first have their original title in continuity (5 issues).

The only problem I can see is Franklin and Valeria as wallpaper. You can always make your case, but I personally see them as valid characters, not just wallpaper.

I could've sworn that Franklin and Valeria were Wallpaper claims in the pre-reboot F4 title. Of course I don't know where or even if you have the old claims lists archived somewhere.

I'm not sure if they were or not, but I'll definitely go and look. Either way, pre-reboot F4 was almost claimed pretty much completely under different administrators than Drake and myself, therefore the claims are handled differently.

So while I'm searching for the claims lists:
Title: Secret Defenders Subtitle: In Darkness, We Are Light
Heroes: Thor Odinson, Dane Whitman (Black Knight), Captain Britain Villains: Loki, Baron Mordo, Dormammu, Mad Jim Jaspers, Malekith the Accursed, Laufey, Grey Gargoyle, Morgan le Fay, Zodiac Organization, Daimon Hellstrom, Satana Support: Warriors Three, Balder, Sif, Ancient One
Also, Doctor Strange would feature in this title as well.

I can't find the old claims list, but honestly I'd lead towards Valeria and Franklin being wallpaper.
As for your claims Jordan I can't see a reason not to approve your title.

Approved, Jordan.
The reason Franklin and Valeria work as wallpaper is because they are directly tied to the F4 title, and no other existing mythos. By claiming their parents, you have every right to claim them. It's similar to with Spider-Man, claiming MJ or Gwen (different relationship but still). They're both very much their own characters (and Gwen is a Spider-Woman in a new AU), but they're tied so intrinsically to the mythos that they are wallpaper. That's my opinion, at least.

Two against one, so yeah, they're wallpaper. I mean, even in my mind they were pretty much that thin line between wallpaper and not wallpaper. So it looks like you two are approved. I'm very excited to see your Fantastic Four.

I'm dying, haha
EDIT: And just to be clear on my opinion of the wallpaper claims, if someone tried to claim Franklin and Valeria for, say, an X-Men title, they couldn't be wallpaper.
EDIT 2: Also, do you guys want F4 under Heroes or Cosmic?

I am sorry about my constant back and forth, but after looking at my plans for Defenders, I've decided I just want to focus on a Thor solo title, partially because it opens up Captain Britain to people who want to write a solo on him, and partially because I just have a Thor story that I have to tell. Anyway, here's my claims list:
Title: The Mighty Thor Subtitle: The Last Asgardian
Hero: Thor Odinson (Donald Blake) Villains: Laufey, Frost Giants, Malekith the Accursed, Loki, Midgard Serpent, Enchantress Support: Stingray, Odin, Balder, Warriors Three, Sif, Stingray, Captain Ultra, Torpedo, Luke Cage

It's been a few days (and actually a couple weeks since I came up with the idea), so I've gotta claim this. I know I'm going to receive some serious flack for this, but I hope people can see this from my perspective that A) I have a different story to tell and I would like to actually complete one B) I don't want another title taken from me (has happened 3 times now) C) Two writers have failed so far, and that's just post-reboot, and D) At least this way we'll know it'll be consistent and actually published.
Sorry, Spider-Guest.
Title: The Amazing Spider-Man Subtitle: TBD
Hero: Peter Parker (Spider-Man)
Villains: Otto Octavius (Doctor Octopus), Flint Marko (Sandman), Max Dillon (Electro), Norman Osborn (Green Goblin), Miles Warren (Jackal), Adrian Toomes (Vulture), Abner Jenkins (Beetle), Jason Macendale (Jack O’Lantern), Mark Raxton (Molten Man), Mac Gargan (Scorpion), Phineas Horton (Tinkerer)
Support: Richard Rider (Nova), Ava Ayala (White Tiger), Flash Thompson
Undefined: Hobie Brown (Prowler), Felicia Hardy (Black Cat), Curt Connors (Lizard), Blackie Drago
Wallpaper: Harry Osborn, Mary Jane Watson, Gwen Stacy, George Stacy, The Daily Bugle, May Parker, Ben Parker, Liz Allan, The Connors, Sinister Six, Horizon Labs
Let the disapproving comments begin...

Also, I sent a super long pm to Jordan a week ago that gave an even better explanation as for why I'm claiming this, and he knows I'm passionate about the story I have to tell. Additionally, we're going to work together to build up New York's underworld and its past.
Oh and I did try to come up with ideas for other titles, but I didn't like any of them. I didn't want to claim Spider-Man, but the story just hit me and won't get out of my head. Dob and Star, you should be aware of my ideas for other titles from the pm's I sent to you guys. This sure as hell doesn't feature preboot Kang's son or Hulkling.

We have already talked about it and my stance on the subject is that if you are passionate about the series then I personally believe that, whether you wrote it preboot or not, you should be allowed to write it. Anyway, the only problem I have with your claims list is Harry as wallpaper. As you know, I'm very very strict when it comes to looking at wallpaper claims. I think that Harry as wallpaper makes about as much sense as Miles as wallpaper for an Ultimates title, get what I'm saying? Anyway, if you can fix that, I'd be more than okay approving this claims list.
