1. As the creator and owner of the board, has it turned into everything you wanted it to be?
No. I am happy with the current state, but it is not how I expected. I was kinda of hoping that everyone would be writing titles while preparing for site wide crossovers. Namely the Galactus event. ...I really wanted to do that. Jordan's brother, Mezzaro, and I had made plans to get everyone together for this and how it will go. But... well things didn't go as planned. Didn't help that I couldn't even do a single paragraph of my own title. But hey, stuff happens. You just have to make the most of it and keep on moving forward. And we are certainly doing that.
2. When the board went under last November, did you ever expect it to come back?
No. Not at all. I talked to Miller and we both agreed that the site was done. I tried to stay optimistic, but the site was so damaged that didn't think there was anything I could do. In fact there wasn't. Which is why I gave everything to Jordan when he asked me to. I didn't object to any of his plans, even though I wasn't sure about some of them, because I thought at that point that nothing can bring the site back. Actually, no. I was planning to object to Jordan's plans if he was gonna do the same thing as Mezzaro wanted to do shortly before he quit the site. I refuse to say any more on the subject because I respect him too much to bad mouth him especially since he isn't around to defend himself or argue. I certainly hopes he returns to the site with a slightly better attitude. Anyway, I was kind of surprised at how things are currently are. It isn't as lively as I was hoping when I made this site. But at least stuff are happening and the site isn't dead at all. Also, it was when Drake arrived that things are starting to pick up. So thanks Drake. Also, thanks to Jordan for keeping me interested in this site enough to help out behind the scenes. Thank you DiscipleofBob for helping out with the skins and banners of the site. Also, thank you readers and writers for helping keep this site alive even when I gave up on it.
3. What are your thoughts and feelings on the Avengers event?
I am excited for it, especially when I get to write my story arcs. I am especially excited for the moment when the Avengers finally assembled. But I am not happy with how quickly things are going. I am only halfway done with Cap (Speaking of which, Jordan we really need to schedule for both of us to be on Google Drive so we can work on it at the same time) and the are already two prelude issues. Things are going too fast especially since the Avengers will have to take place after several issues of Captain America. Another thing I am worried about is the fourth prelude. It has Spidey and Cap working together. I would like to have a look at that to make sure that it doesn't interfere with my plans for Cap. Mostly I don't want there to be any major spoilers. I talked to Drake about it a bit, but I wasn't aware at the time he would be doing a team up. I thought he was getting info for the official Avengers title. Hopefully Jordan gave him enough to info that it won't affect anything. So my main complaint is that this is the best thing to happen to this site, just happening to fast.
4. Any little hints you can drop about your first arc of the Avengers?
It will be about the Avengers being abducted by Mojo for one of his sick reality tv shows. Also, I am making some changes to my original plans. Originally you were all going to get some one on one fights with alternate versions of different Marvel characters. I changed my mind as I thought some people would have some problems with that. Some might say it is boring and predictable or claim that I am being biased in a fight. So, I am keeping the concept of Avengers being forced to perform for Mojo's audience. But it will be a different game show. One that will hopefully last five issues.
5. What can you tell us about Cap?
I am making some changes that is for sure. I won't spoil too much. But I will also say that I am not making too major of a change. It is just how Cap got frozen (Nothing too major, just to make Bucky seem heroic and worthy of being Cap's friend since he gets little screen time in this issue) and what happens when he is unearthed. I am sure a lot of people will be surprised one I have him unearthed. Also, there are two Red Skulls. One during WWII and one during the present. You can probably tell who will be who by looking at the claims list.
6. What's your favorite title on the site so far? Why?
Too early to say. I haven't read Iron Man yet, nor the latest FF or All-Star X-Men. But it will probably have to be either Spider-Man or X-Men: First Class. Probably Spider-Man because I really love the character, my very first superhero in fact, and Drake did the character a lot of justice during his final moments and with such a short scene.
7. Lastly, where do you see the site in one year?
I don't know. At the rate things are going, we will have a small gathering of writers but a lot of readership. After all, a lot of characters have already been claimed. Plus the Avengers is being rushed so much that it might turn some writers off. It turned Miller off for sure. But, I am sure a lot of people will be reading our work, especially since I have a Facebook page and a Twitter account dedicated to it. So, we got more than one way to spread the word. Oh, and I have something to say. Please give the Facebook page a like and follow the Twitter account. It will help to spread the word. Also, can anyone put a TV Tropes page of this? That should help the site as well. I don't want anyone to recommend the site on TV Tropes until we got the Avengers line finished. (Being recommended by TV Tropes is a great way to get people to find the site.) I guess those are all the questions Jordan had for me. I will like to say again, thank you. Thank you everyone who is writing the stories and everyone is reading what we put out. Just thank you for being interested in this site and contributing to it.
Those are the words straight out of your faithful admin's mouth! We hope to have more interviews throughout the month, and remember:
And questions, don't be afraid to ask!
