Only got one for now.
As a reminder, all writers with a title (whether they put up an issue or not) are required to review an issue this month. Pick one--a single one--and review it.
I'm going to list off who hasn't given a review. Please note, I could be wrong so if I am, just correct me here. -aman -ryn -C_Miller
Again, just inform me if you have.
The punishment will be a loss of a claim on the first month of new claims. That would mean if you didn't review this month, next month (in which you put up a chapter), and the month after, you will not receive any claims for August, and you will lose one for September. So, if it isn't clear, every time you fail to review at all, you will lose one new claim.
UPDATED with one less reviewer.

Unless my review wasn't saved I remember doing so very clearly.
But then we live in the age of computer error so that's a very real thing. I'll look again and try to remember what I wrote the first time.
*UPDATE*
Okay, not as long this time but I got it in. My computer is 11 years old and craps out regularly, plus all kinds of odd things can happen. Part of the game, I guess. If there's ever an issue let me know, I have no problem fixing things.

So, because technically an issue wasn't due that month, I'm giving a pardon to aman, ryn and Miller for June, but July a review is required. Otherwise, you'll lose a claim if you get to issue 2.
Additionally, this is a reminder that EVERYONE has a chapter due this month. Some have been turned in already; some have not. You have plenty of time, so no rush, but do be aware that if you fail to put up an issue this month you will lose your title. We (the admins) will only be giving extensions to A) writers that have already posted an issue in June, or B) if you have a REALLY good reason why over the last 2+ months you couldn't write a minimum of 1500 words.
Seriously, get those issues up before the month's end.

TITLES WITH AN ISSUE DUE IN JULY: Spider-Man Alpha Flight Fantastic Four Sorcerers Supreme Astonishing X-Men Deadpool
Get 'em up!
For this month and this month alone I will be pardoning everyone from the review rule. Next month that WILL NOT be the case.

Could I catch up on reviews Thursday? After my final? I'm a little over busy right now.

Absolutely! Honestly I'm giving everyone a break from reviews for this month so they get up their issues (although that's mostly for the people who haven't put up a single one).

I doubt that this will even be a problem, but any active writers, I know the temptation of Spider-Man is now looming, please do not drop your current title in the interest of a new, shiny Spider-Man. If you are legitimately having problems with your current title and think that it is in your best interest as a writer to drop your title and pick up Spider-Man, please feel free to appeal your case to us admins. But I am discouraging anyone from dropping their current title for Spider-Man, although, with our current writers, I don't see that being an issue.

Just to clarify, Nomad contacted me and told me that he was dropping Spider-Man. The title is open for claims.

It looks like we have our first few busts from the Draft a few months ago:
Sorcerers Supreme by Aman Alpha Flight by C_Miller Deadpool by All Star Silentking Fantastic Four by Ryn
An August claims thread is going up now folks. I look forward to seeing what happens.

So, you might have noticed I cleaned up the site a little. I trimmed the fat and reorganized a few things so it looks a little less daunting. Tell me if there's anything you think I missed.
On a different note, I'm open to accepting admin applications as the site has been best run with a triumvirate of heads. I won't consider anyone new until they've proven themselves as active members of the site. Obviously that's subjective, but if you check in nearly every day, help get activity going through threads and the shoutbox, or even claim a title and get it into continuity, I'll consider your app.
Elec and I are handling things fine now, but I prefer having three admins at any given time. With that said, I won't rush the process. If it takes a couple months to find the right admin then I'm open to waiting.

I may as well offer, since I already know the ins and outs of what it means to be admin over at the UDC site, especially since you were so kind as to help out there as well.

DiscipleofBob and right when I revoked your admin status LOL! You're definitely a good pick, but I'm nervous you're too busy for the job. I trust you though. Do you have the time to be an admin? If you say 'yes,' then you're in.

Good job, DoB!
Will Star, Jelly, and adrini get a chance?

Post by Drake on Aug 17, 2015 19:55:27 GMT -5
For starters, I don't know if they want the job. In the past, Star's preferred staying away from an administrative position. Adrini is an admin at UDC and she does a lot around here, so she would be a good choice, but I don't think she'd have a problem with her husband, Dob, being an admin. Jelly would also be a good choice, but for legitimate reasons I'd prefer Dob. I'm sure Jelly could guess them. He's not always been consistent with his title's release schedule. Thankfully, that seems to be changing.

I'm game, if you just need someone for grunt work. Both DOB and I have had out share or record keeping and upkeep jobs. How much help do you need?

Post by Drake on Aug 17, 2015 19:59:54 GMT -5
Not much, which is why I only needed one. It's mostly for emergencies and big decisions. It's hard to decide on something if it's a 1-1 vote, but 2-1 makes things easy. That's why I don't want 4 admins. I'm also not going to make every vet writer an admin (meaning 5 or more).

Although if the site continues to grow and we get three or more active writers, I might make one or two moderators for grunt work.

That's fair. Often it's the paperwork that get put off that sneaks up on you. That's why I mentioned it. I, personally, really prefer to have someone to just make double sure that is 100% kept up with.

A reminder, if you've claimed a title, please post at least one review this month. It's a rule. (I'm looking primarily at the new writers.)

Is anyone interested in developing or helping to develop a new continuity section where we can compile all the continuity for dropped and current titles?
