I didn't want to use a foreboding title. I really didn't. Hence "moving forward." Even still, this post is far from sunshine and teddy bears (vicious little buggers that they are).
After I publish Guardians of the Galaxy #21, the finale to my run on the title, I will be leaving this site. I've been pondering the idea for nearly six months now, and I've reached a point that I think is appropriate to say my farewell to, at the very least, writing on this site. I will stick around in some form until the very end (as I said I would), but I will not continue to write here. I know many of you will view that as a rude move. Perhaps it is.
However, at the end of the day, I've realized for a variety of reasons I'd rather not reveal here that investing so much time into either this site or UDC is unwise for me moving forward. As for why I won't talk the details of my leave, I'd rather not motivate anyone to leave with grim remarks and sad farewells. I'm afraid I already pushed Sonny to do so (we've been in contact about my move for a short while).
I'm not sure DiscipleofBob will ever read this, but if he does, just know that your Wonder Woman story made me appreciate the character for the first time in my life. You're a great writer and I'm forever grateful for your stories and wisdom.
To adrini I'm sorry I'm leaving Knights unfinished, particularly with only five (albeit huge) issues left. My departure from that title has very little to do with our prior creative differences, and more to do with my overall feelings about the site. I'm grateful for your cooperation and leadership in keeping these sites moving. While we butted heads at times, I really did appreciate getting to work with you. Your passion for your favorite characters will always inspire me.
@sonny Daye we've already talked so there's not much for me to say.
thejellyfish Every title you've written has been immensely fun and I expect great things from you in the future. Maybe it's not my place to say this, but you've got amazing potential, and with the ideas you come up with I imagine you'll tell a ton of incredible stories in the future. Also, thanks for being the only other long-running young person on this site, haha! (Sonny, sorry, you've been off and on since you joined.)
thetrueelec You're my fellow admin, and for the last year you've taken most of the load in that regard. Thank you for that. I'm glad you'll still be around to run this site in some capacity, and I promise I won't abandon you entirely (unless you leave, of course).
As for how to handle continuity and the direction of the site moving forward (ha, see what I did there?), I'll leave that up to those who stay. I hope this site continues. I really do love it, but I have to move on. If there's anything I can do to ease Spider-Man and Knights' development without writing another issue, I'll happily do it. You want an outline? Sure. A summary? Won't take me too long, I guess. Just some advice? Why, of course!
If no one reviews Guardians 21, I'll completely understand. I'm not ashamed to say that I hope someone does it anyway. That's my brief plug.
While I'm not leaving entirely, I still just want to say thanks to everyone again (including those guests who pop by every once and a while).
And, as always, excelsior!
