So I've discovered we have fellow fans of the Doctor here! Here's a place where we can discuss! Who's your favorite Doctor? Best Episode? Feelings on Capaldi's kidney's? What color do you think they are? Best companion? How long have you been watching?

I'm much more familiar with modern Doctor Who than classic Doctor Who, but I'm planning on going back and watching all of the classic stories. I do have a decent idea of the classic show though. I've watched everything Netflix has to offer and I have watched a few other serials by other means.
My favorite Doctor... that's tough. I have yet to encounter a Doctor I don't like. Perhaps William Hartnell, but that's more based on how the show started out. As far as favorite, I think I have to go with Tennant, but I think his era was the best so it might come down to his stories. By that logic, I might have to go with Matt Smith since I really, really fell in love with his version of The Doctor, but I find his era to be a pretty mixed bag. As far as classic Who goes, I find myself gravitating towards Peter Davison and Jon Pertwee.
Best episode... The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances is a modern classic. I loved Blink like everyone else did. Army of Ghosts/Doomsday was great. But I think my favorite of Ten's era was Human Nature/Family of Blood. The best two serials for me are Genesis of the Daleks and The Caves of Androzani. I know those are old standbys, but they're cliched for a reason!
Best Companion... I have a soft spot for all the major modern era companions. Oddly enough for not being big on the Moffat era, I have to say I love The Ponds. They'd probably be top for me.
I'm very much looking forward to Peter Capaldi. I don't know if any of you have seen The Thick of It, but he's a brilliant actor. I hope Moffat puts his money where his mouth is when it comes to a new direction though. We did the storybook folk hero of Matt Smith's era, now I think it's time for something new.

I am really looking forward to Capaldi. I love Smith but except for the 50th(which wasn't a good 50th but was a great episode), this last season or so has been pretty lackluster. I hope Capaldi and the new direction will shake things up and get back to quality eps.
My favorite Doctor is Tennant. I started with nuWho and never really clicked with Eccleston. But Tennant was amazing. My favorite companion is Captain Jack.
That said, despite how mediocre his movie was, I really liked Paul McGann as the Doctor. I was so glad he came back briefly. Wish they'd let him do more.

I jumped on the wagon recently, watching the reboot on Netflix. I'm not very far, admittedly, but I've watched at least a handful of episodes with every doctor since the reboot. Christopher Eccleston grew on me as his season went by, and he's technically my "first" (although I'd watched the latter two before) Doctor, so I have a fondness for him. However, my favorite Doctor has to be Tennant. Like, Star, my favorite companion is Jack Harkness. My favorite episode? Well, haven't watched much more than 15, but I'd have to say Tennant's last episode. His little "I don't want to go yet" made me get emotional and that was only my FIRST episode of Dr. Who.
EDIT: Forgot to mention Capaldi. I'm excited as hell. He'll be my first "new" Doctor.

I love Doctor Who, I've mostly seen New Who with a couple of classic serials. My favourite Doctor is Seven and my favourite companion is Ace, alone they are both awesome together they manage to be even better.
Anyone hear listen to Big Finish, they're audio dramas starring the alive classic doctors, and they even manage to get stories about 1-3 by having them narrated by their companions. I haven't listened to many as I only started buying them with their 12 days of christmas sale but I really like what I've heard so far. Also they're canon, when Eight says goodbye to those people before regenerating he's talking to his companions from Big Finish.

I'm glad to see a guest chime in!
As for the Big Finish, no, I have not listened to it.

What's the best way to listen to The Big Finish audio dramas? I definitely would like to hear some more stories featuring The Eighth Doctor.

Just start an account, purchase the audios, then download them. You get the audio tracks for the episodes and can listen to them however you want. www.bigfinish.com/hubs/v/doctor-who

... I guess a quick google search would have been the best way to solve that problem. Didn't know they were all in one spot.

Certainly isn't as bloody flashy as it normally is, so I'm fine with that. Capalid represents a different doctor, and perhaps a more "straight forward" direction in the series? perhaps it won't be about Matt Smith being allegedly sexy and doing daft things and we can get back to the morality of a time travelling humanist hero who isn't about pretending to do violence and stuff, he's about doing the right thing by solving all the problems.
Which, you know, is what I loved about the Who stuff. (Still, it ain't quite Blake 7 is it?)
