His reasons are a mystery for now. Some of which will be explored more next issue, but it has to do with Jericho and how he got it. As Tony touched on last issue, there has to be a mole.

Okay so I'm finally caught up. A lot of the changes still aren't sitting very well with me, but despite that, your writing remains on point and I never fail to enjoy your story. I like it so far and I'm looking forward to more, but right now I wouldn't put it on the top tier of titles on the board. I think it has a lot of potential and I know that you are a fantastic writer, so you still have my interest.
Also, I too was left wondering why Mandarin released him and, like you yourself have said, you have to leave the reader with the since that "Hey, maybe there is more to this scene than meets the eye" instead of just saying "Next time." in the discussion. Of course, maybe you intended for us to be asking ourselves why, but I don't think it showed in the writing. Overall, the title has gotten progressively better over each issue, and I look forward to #4.

It's clear through his dialogue that he did it on purpose for reasons he hasn't made quite clear yet. The reader knows he did it on purpose and not because of a plot hole.
If I didn't set up the mystery of his motivations clear enough than that's my failing. But that's different than not making it clear he chose to let him go.

You did set up that he did it on purpose, I personally just wasn't getting the "for reasons unknown to the reader vibe from it. Again, that might just be me, but overall it was a good issue.

Not sure what Drake and Jordan are talking about. You did fine with Mandarin. Sure Tony escaped, but you made it clear that Mandarin let him, and for reasons that we're not supposed to know yet. In doing so, you preserved Mandarin's dignity and kept him as a legitimate villain. Now I personally just hope you kept the actual ten power rings.
Excellent issue with well-done plot and action. You hit all the important notes while still keeping this version of Iron Man's story distinct with some development from side characters as well. Rhodes was even more badass than in his last appearance.
My only criticism was when Rhodes seemed to imply that SHIELD had more than one Helicarrier and that he could have easily commandeered one for a rescue mission. There's only one Helicarrier, and it's a mobile headquarters, not a siege weapon.

My bad. I'll edit that. Might I suggest you do a write up on some basic stuff like that for SHIELD. I'd hate to have to constantly nag you to verify every little thing I mention about SHIELD.
Thanks for the review by the way. And Mandarin does have his ten rings of power. He's just not the type to flaunt them.

I'm bummed that this isn't continuing. But, I'm even more excited about space pirates and Adam X.
Okay, I may not be excited for Adam X so much as I'm excited for THE xXx-TREME-ness that comes with him. Like, super excited.
I wish this Iron Man could've made it to become part of the Avengers (whenever that happens), but oh well. I guess someone can make a more 'regular' Iron Man series.
Haha, Adam X. Pfft.
