(Let me know if this isn't allowed but) The first person to guess what number I'm thinking of I'll PM the twist ending to the first issue of Thor.
edit: Well, not the actual ending because it's not written, but a description anyway.

(Let me know if this isn't allowed but) The first person to guess what number I'm thinking of I'll PM the twist ending to the first issue of Thor. I can't tell if that's a joke or not. If so, do we get any hints? Like "pick a number between 1 and 25" or something. As for the China thing, I agree with Dob. It's obviously Pepper. That bitch has powers we can't even comprehend. Comix, I'll wait to see what you've got in store, but I will admit that origin sounds less compelling then the original. We'll see. I'm certainly interested in what you have in store for us.

It's not a joke.
I guess a range would help though. It's a whole number between 1 and 100.

And if a guest makes an account and asks a question, I'll throw in an early read of whatever amount of Guardians of the Galaxy #8 I get done this weekend.
Also, I'll post my last thoughts (for this line) tomorrow. Taking tonight off. I'm going to go see the Hobbit with friends and I'll probably be out of the house for most of the night. I might check in once or twice from my phone, but my contributions won't be anything substantial.

Guests don't really need accounts to post.
Iron Man's new origin actually helps with my future Avengers plan. And not in a good way for Tony.
And 18.

We've always been open for questions, but now that's the specific focus. I do have a little more to say later. I'll get to it when I have more time and have written a little. Also, that's cheating, SK

Also, can you say anything about Thor series here that wouldn't be spoiling? At the very least why you chose Thor? Honestly I expected you to claim Runaways. I thought about claiming Runaways, but honestly I wasn't sure what kind of story I'd tell that the actual book didn't do better. One of my first ideas for the old site was a Nico Minoru series I called Witchbreaker that would have dealt with Doctor Strange and Dormammu battling for Nico Minoru's soul as she tried to figure out whether she'd become a hero or a villain. I gave up on this for my almost-made Iron Man series, but then the site reset. For a time, I flirted with an X-Force series that would have basically been X-Men meets Runaways, with Molly, Cloak, Dagger, Kamala Kahn, and X-23 escaping from Mister Sinister and running away. I decided against though; plans for that basically all boiled down to 'The X-Force goes somewhere, stops a villain, leaves' with some halfbaked clone overplot that I'm pretty sure I only thought up because I like clones. I also thought about a Hulk title, with the twist that Banner was an evil mad scientist working for the Intelligencia and Hulk was his repressed heroic side who kept foiling his schemes. Unfortunately, most of my plot ideas for that one ended in physical fistfights, and that's both boring for me to write and boring for you to read. When I tried writing Spider-Man for that week I had the title claimed, everything I wrote just reeked of "hey, anyone could do this. WHy am I doing it?" and also I realized I was trying to fast-track Doctor Octopus into taking over Pete's body so I could write Superior Spider-Man, haha. Then I read the current run of God of Thunder by Jason Aaron and fell in love. I've never been a big Thor fan, which I think is a good thing here because I don't have many preconceptions going into the series. I can feel free to do whatever I want with the character. There's going to be some fight scenes, that much is a given. But gods and mythology run on metaphor, and that interests me. When I was a kid, I loved reading books on Greek and Egyptian mythology, though I am admittedly not as up on Norse. Even reading Avengers, Thor was never a standout character to me, but something about GoT clicked. I loved how it could seamlessly do a jaunty trek through the nine realms and then do a story about a big business that wanted to piss Thor off. There;s some great variety there, even in just the one 25 issue run I've read, and I like the idea of being free to write whatever situation I want and have it work. Maybe a better writer than me could do that with anyone, I dunno. Also, that's cheating.

Can we get any hints to the overarching plot of the book, Sister Grimm?
Fun fact, since we're on this topic anyway: before the title draft I was stuck between Guardians and a Captain America title. The storyline would have shaken things up in a similar fashion to what I did with Spider-Man pre-boot, in that Bucky Barnes would be the modern day Captain America. However, he wasn't the original Bucky, but rather his grandson, an early thirties divorced veteran who struggled with a severe survivor's complex. Nick Fury, in an attempt to reignite the super soldier program, deemed him worthy to test out for the job. Bucky refused, but got caught in a dangerous web of lies and deceit when his roommate and only friend, Sam Wilson, was assassinated (by Crossbones). Bucky agrees to work with Fury because he wasn't safe and he wanted revenge. Turns out Wilson was alive and was a SHIELD agent sent to watch over Bucky for Fury and nudge him towards being a hero. He'd seen his Hydra assassin coming, and decided to fake his death.
The early arcs would feature Bucky taking on Hydra, butting heads with Fury (who picked him for the job because 1. he's a great soldier, and 2. he's easy to control). Eventually, Fury discovers he made a huge mistake when Bucky breaks off his connection with SHIELD after he's lied to and told SHIELD had been infiltrated by Hydra. Bucky leads a revolution, systematically stopping Hydra's crazy plans and reinventing SHIELD as a better conglomerate of united men and women working for freedom for all mankind. The Winter Soldier (in a very 'me' way) was planned to be in fact Steve Rogers, who'd been discovered by the Russians and later bought by Hydra. I would've played with a lot of modern day American themes, including freedom vs. security, the positive and negative natures of a democratic government, etc. Bucky was supposed to be (for me at least) the Cap to represent the modern day America.

I guess I'll talk about what I was planning for Toxin (since it was a Heroes title) before I dropped it. It would've had the Toxin symbiote bonded with Patrick, and Carnage would've wanted to kill the symbiote because...because...well, I'm not sure. Also, this version of Carnage would've abandoned Cletus and bonded with a girl because...because...well, I don't know. I guess I just thought Carnage would've been hot bonded to a girl. Anyway, I would've had Carnage assemble Venom's other offspring to kill Toxin. The whole series would've been around eleven issues long.
The Invincible Iron Man would've been my first title, but Star's version had just gotten dropped, and besides, I was stupid and thought I could do more with Toxin. I had also thought about a Deadpool title. Also a Hulk one, but Hulk has a small problem: he's a lot more fun in small amounts. He's a cool character, but he's a very complicated one too. I didn't put much thought into it, but I decided to write Toxin anyway.
I'm really excited to write TIIM.

I feel like I should tease this. It's still very much in the early stages, but we've begun planning The Avengers! By we I mean all the writers (except Sister Grimm, who just claimed her first title and hasn't posted an issue yet; sorry!). So far we've figured out the tentative cast of Iron Man, Spider-Woman, Sunspot, Nova, and the Hulk. It's not definite yet, but I think it's who we'll end up going with (maybe with the addition of a character). I don't plan on releasing the identity of this Nova right now, but I will admit that it's a 'she' and therefore is not Richard Rider. We've also (and again, I stress this is in the planning stages) narrowed down the list of villains, and it's looking like it'll be a cosmic one, probably an alien invasion. I might have more news by the end of the FanCon, but it's unlikely. I will say that it is likely you'll get your first Avengers issue before the Summer Con. That means--if you're unaware of how the Cons work around here--that it'll be probably be released in the next six months. And no, it 100% will not be written by me. No more origins, The Scarlet Drake declares ...I say that now. Wait till I get the incredible urge to write a new character.

Can we get any hints to the overarching plot of the book, Sister Grimm? What happens when Man aspires to be like the Gods? And what do the Gods aspire to?
