First!
Posted my issue. Since I believe the intention is to do this every year, and these are one shots, I figured these would be our version of Annual comics.
I had a lot of trouble at first coming up with what story to do until jelly reminded me a while back I'd mentioned how I wanted to do a Gambit solo series. So I took some idea from him and what I had wanted to do if I had done a Gambit series and wrote this story. Jelly wanted the date to be vague, but obviously it's set during Gambit's thieving days.
Let me know what you guys think.

Wow. You nailed it. That was incredible!
You have Gambit's personality down pat, you fleshed out Greycrow, you handled a simple story well by adding depth and making it compelling. God, there's more I could say but won't bother. It's all summarized in these words: you fucking nailed that story.
That was tragic, intense, cool, and incredibly 'gray' as any good Gambit story should be. I loved the ending. This was just really well written and executed.
I like the Annual idea and I think I'll use it for my story. Good call.
Between this and my story, the X-titles are going to get pretty dark this month. That's all I'll say on that matter.
9.5/10. This is exactly what I wanted these 'annuals' to be: compelling, self-contained, and containing legitimate character development.

Thank you. I'm wondering if you guessed who Gambit was talking to in the last scene. Jelly couldn't figure it out so I changed his "codename" to try and make it easier.

It says Beetle near the end, so I'm assuming Abner Jenkins. If so, that's really cool! If not....I dunno who it could be. Either way, I'm sure it's a fun cameo.

This was really good, I'm behind on X-Men, and also everything else, so I don't know anything about Greycrow but from what we get here he's a really good antagonist for Gambit. gambit himself is great, he shows a lot of different sides to his personality over the course of the issue and none of them feel weird.

Dammit that Beetle shouldn't be there! That was the original codename and it confused Jelly. The one I changed it to was Scarabaeus. Obviously I failed at hinting enough. It's someone from my series.

I can't really think of anything I didn't already tell you when you sent me the first draft. I still love it.

Well, that makes a lot more sense. I'm gonna have to go with Alistair Smythe. His dad's an inventor and runs Scarab Corp.

Yeah I was hoping the obvious name(once I changed it from Beetle), the description, and the Daddy issues would tip it off enough to anyone who read my series.
