I've been watching old black and white films recently from around the 1940's to 50's era, mainly thanks to Netflixs extensive library. So far out of the six I've watched I'd recommend these three.
The Lady Vanishes - an early Alfred Hitchcock film, it's lighthearted and an easy watch.
The Woman in the Window - a good film about the dangers of trying to relive your youthful days, it has the kind of ending you either hate or don't mind.
Cry Danger - my favorite of the three, gangster gets out of jail after having been put in for a crime he didn't actually do and goes after his old boss with various twists revealed throughout the film.

Saw The Wolverine. Not the best thing better, the beginning was very boring due to being just exposition and who is who, but the rest is awesome.
Plot: 7/10 Just your average superhero plot with some cool take on characters. Nothing memorable except for the post-credit ending which I guess will tie into the next X-Men film.
Story structure: 6.5/10 As I said earlier, the beginning was very boring due to mainly exposition, which also followed through a couple scenes in the movie. But even so, it wraps up pretty much all of its plot points except for planting two which are obviously suppose to be explored in future films.
Characters: 8.5/10 Wolverine is as badass as ever. No disappointment there. There is also some nice character development which is also a side plot of sorts that goes throughout the entire film. This side plot is wrapped up nicely by the way which also serves to enhance our favorite feral mutant. The supporting characters are also good at supporting Wolverine through his emotional and physical troubles. The villains, with Silver Samurai taking full center here despite not being part of the entire movie, are also threatening with valid reasons. The changes to SS are also nice and are reasonable enough although can argued on whether they are necessary or not. While I like this change to this character, I didn't like the change to Viper. Admittedly, it is a cool version of the characters, and not nearly as bad as the change made to Mandarin, I feel it is unnecessary and wonder if they couldn't have made the character an original villain or at least given a different name so I can stop associating here with the, sometimes, leader of Hydra.
Action Sequence: 9/10 One of the strongest points in the film. Every fight is suspenseful and pure awesome. Either Wolverine vs Silver Samurai or the bullet train battle are my favorite fight.
Average score: 6.2/10 Personal Score: 7.5/10
Again, not one of the best movies out there but it is still something that is worth seeing. Also, note to self. Think harder on score system so the average score can better fit what I think films deserve.

I have to disagree with you on several points there, SK. I went on saw this movie at the midnight premier. Obviously I was excited. Mainly because Wolverine is somewhere in my top 5 comic characters.
The changes made to Viper, well, you're kind of right kind of wrong. No, they were NOT necessary, but they weren't bad. They changed her and made her much more like her namesake, and even referenced a Hydra when Wolverine is fighting a bunch of them and states "It's like every time I get rid of one, three more show up..." So, I did not really mind it. I did get a nice nerd boost when I figured out who she was from the comics before she said that she was Viper.
Silver Samurai, pure perfection. It took an awesome yet unrelateable character from the comics and made him still awesome and relateable. So no, they were not necessary, but this is not the comics, so it just worked for the movie better this way.
I agree that the best part was the ACS. I was already excited for a Days of Future Past movie, but now I'm like about to cry I'm so excited. The thought that Charles Xavier and Magneto have united to stop the end of Mutants, and that Wolverine (who is most definitely the main character of the X-Men movies) is probably going to be leading the charge. I love it. Now I just want an AoA movie and I'll be set.
8.9/10. Epic. See it.

I would like to say that I like the changes to Viper, just felt that was so unnecessary that I debunk some points from it. Though I didn't catch the Hydra reference. Still not sure if that change my rating for characters.
Also, you misread what I said about Silver Samurai. I think it is the most awesome and epic change ever made to a character. Certainly made him a more credible threat and that is a pretty good feat since SS was dangerous as he normally is. I will forever argue for the new Samurai.
I was also trying to avoid any mention of the ACS since I want to encourage to people to go out and see it, but yeah it got me totally pump for DoFP.
Also, I meant for Personal Score to be 8/10, not 7.5/10.

It was okay. I don't have time for a full review right now but I felt a lot of it dragged. It was kind of generic and predictable for me. SS was awesome, no doubt. And the ACS was worth going alone.

I loved it. The only part I didn't like was Viper and she was still halfway decent. I think HJ did his best Wolverine yet. He was feral, angry, smart, and downright fun! The ACS was awesome, as everyone's said. Although I'm disappointed (yet again) that Fox is pushing Wolverine as the main character. Jackman's great, but frankly I'm done with Wolvie out of his solo movies. He should be pushed back to sideline character after their inevitable reboot. It's wishful thinking, I know. Also, I want Cyke to get his time to shine. We almost had it in X2, and I thought it would be in X3 (we all know how that went) but I think there's plenty of potential in the future to push his character. Again, wishful thinking. I just love me some Cyclops. Best X-Man ever.

I think that using Wolverine as the focus instead of Cyclopes is a nice breather from things like Claremont's and Bendis' runs.

Wolverine appears in a shit ton of books in the modern Marvel U. I wouldn't say Cyclops is the main character currently. If anything he's seen as the main villain (in world, most X-fans seem to like him more now). In Claremont's run there's no way I'd say either Wolvie or Cyke were the main char. They were hugely important, but if it had to go to anyone it would be Jean. I feel like everyone of Claremont's stories led up to or involved Jean and her connection to the Phoenix.

So. I assume everyone has seen this movie, or at least will ASAP, obviously there will be spoilers in this post.
So this may be my favourite non-avengers MCU movie, beating out Iron Man 3 for that title. I loved everything about this movie, Well Bucky could have gotten some more screen time but considering how much was going on I can't complain too much about that. I really hope her ending means we will be getting a Black Widow movie, and not just because we'd get a female superhero movie in the MCU but because Black Widow was awesome in this movie. How they got Zola in a movie was great, even better was having Batroc the Leaer be awesome.
Also I didn't work it out while watching but. I love the quote they used in Fury's tombstone.

I recognize that TWS is one of the best of the MCUs movies. It's definitely better than IM 2 or 3 and CA. Yet...I don't think I'll ever want to see it again. As blah as Iron Man 2 is, I'd rewatch that over TWS.
TWS was a good story, but it wasn't all that fun. It was worth seeing and I enjoyed it, but nothing about it makes me want to see it again. While all the other movies I could definitely watch again.
I will grant it's probably in part to not being a huge CA fan. Compared to Stark or Thor, CA is so bland and uninteresting. This movie did a better job of surrounding him with interesting characters than the first movie, but it's still not enough.

I disagree with that statement about Cap being boring, but I really don't feel like arguing about it. To each their own, I guess.

I didn't say comic Cap is. But I definitely feel like movie Cap is pretty generic action hero. He was a bit more interesting this time with some focus on his man out of time shtick.

Fair enough. I can agree movie Cap is less cool than comic Cap, but I do still like him a lot. Thor is the weak link for me.

Newest X-Men trailer is huuuge. A bit spoilerish. I wasn't sure I should watch it since I planned to see it anyway, but I'm glad I did. It moved me from cautiously optimistic to excited.

It looks so awesome, well besides Quiksilver who looks horrible as we knew he would. But beside that everything made me really excited to see the movie.

Is anyone aware that Crossbones was in The Winter Soldier? I have to say, Winter Soldier is great and I absolutely love it. Though I am surprised at how many people didn't know who Winter Soldier actually was.

OK, serious question here...how does everyone rank the Spider-Man movies?
I feel like I'm in the minority here, but I think the Amazing Spider-Man movies are better than Raimi's original trilogy. They adhere more closely to the personality and feel of Spider-Man, and they provide a fantastic couple in Garfield's Peter and Stone's Gwen. My personal order goes:
1. Amazing 2 2. Amazing 3. Spidey 2 4. Spidey 5. Spidey 3
Despite how the list looks, I actually consider Spider-Man 1 and 2 to be great films, just not as good as ASM 1 and 2. Spidey 3 was just awful. To be fair, I actually do consider Spider-Man 2 to be a superior (get it?) film to both Amazing films, but I thought the Amazing films served as better SPIDER-MAN films. Garfield is pretty much my dream Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and DeHaan blew me away with his Harry Osborn. Emma Stone's acting talent goes without saying.
So, your thoughts?
To add some extra context, I also prefer to watch The Avengers over The Dark Knight for the same reason I prefer ASM 2 over Spidey 2; the characters are treated more like their comic book counterparts. So, I figure it wouldn't be crazy for some of you guys to ignore my opinions as, well, I seem to be in the minority about most of my movie opinions.

I feel like I should add this, as it seems like from my last post that I'm crazy in love with the Amazing films. I'm not...mostly.
The Parker's secret story is boring as hell, and Electro just felt so wrong in ASM2. Jamie Foxx did a great job with what he was given, but he wasn't given much. At all. The change in his character is also about as great as Doc Ock's in Spidey 2, which used to peeve me to no end. Neither are accurately represented as their comic book counterparts.

Unfortunately, for me a lot was riding on the direction of Edgar Wright. And this one is actually a big surprise for me since it seemed like it was as much of a passion project as a big summer blockbuster could be.
Of course, I'll see the movie but I'm less enthused.

I'm honestly not all that shocked. Disappointed certainly, but not shocked. This is a case of a director with a very strong creative vision, and a studio that will only relinquish so much creative control over a property. It probably didn't help that Marvel is on a time table with its cinematic offerings, and Wright doesn't exactly have the greatest track record when it comes to adhering to a schedule.
