Not bad. I agree that Peter came across too hyper and like a buffoon. He reads like Peter Parker as played by Shia Lebouf. Which shouldn't have to be said, is frightening.
Other than that it was fine. Typical Parker luck and all. Keep em coming.

Yes!
Yes yes yes!
Great issue! Your characterization of Norman was spot-on, and your characterization of Harry was pretty good too. Your characterization of Peter, though, is still a little...off. He should've been a lot angrier about being kidnapped.
The issue: 8.5
The title so far: 8
Keep it up!

Good issue. I enjoyed Norman's half crazed attitude. It felt pretty short though. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to know who the guy at the end was. But I'm not up on the comics. Keep em comng.

Just as a reminder, comixmaster, this isn't an exact translation of the comics. If I were writing the official The Amazing Spider-Man comic then we'd have an issue, but I'm purposely taking liberties with the characters. Harry, in particular, will be a different take. Remember he's goth, right? That's not been done before to my knowledge. There'll be more differences too. And believe me, Peter will be mad.
@star, you don't have to know who that guy is. Considering next issue ties into an event right now, it would be confusing for you. Don't worry. I'll explain it all in #5. And yeah, it was a little short. That's my bad for having to rush it.

I love it! Love the whole thing so far! Also, forgot to mention that Gspawn (I don't know if he is okay with his real name being known so I am using his username from another board) also helped me write the McClane scene.
POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD
ALTHOUGH YOU SHOULD BE READING THE STORY BEFORE THIS THREAD IN THE FIRST PLACE!
Also, I didn't expect Morlun to show up. Based on what you said before, I expected the Spider-Verse tie-in to be SpOck trying to recruit your Spidey before getting they get kick out. Not a potential death.

Completely forgot that Harry's a goth.
Edit: Also, are you creating your own Spider-Verse event, or are you including All-Star Spidey in the canon? Or are you doing something else?

I'm glad everyone's liking it.
@all Star Silentking, that isn't Morlun, and yes it ties into the Edge of Spider-Verse (otherwise known as the prequel to Spider-Verse).
This is Spider-Verse. All Star Spider-Man is "canon" (I'm not actually a comic book writer so...). However, something will happen next issue that will change our Universe forever (although it won't be played out like a big deal for reasons you'll see).

Errr...You didn't really answer my question...I guess I should ask, what is your Spider-Verse event about?

It's not an event in and of itself. #5 will tie in to the mainstream Spider-Verse, but after that we're completely separate. Just wait for the next issue if you're still not getting it. I promise it'll make sense.

And by "separate" I meant "done with Spider-Verse."

This was a really good issue. That scene between Peter and Norman was amazing, your Norman is so good and really elevated this issue. Naturally I look forward to seeing more of him. I'm also excited to see what's up with the guy at the end of the issue, and of course the Spider-Verse tie in.

Thanks for the kind review! You can definitely look forward to more Norman in the future.

Just want to say, Rory McClane aka The Mole has a strong Alaskan accent, so his dialogue will be a little different this issue. I was in a rush last month and forgot to inform SK about it. Please excuse the small continuity error.

Before the FanCon, and officially in continuity, I present The Amazing Spider-Man #5! It's a bit short, but it's also a big deal. Read it and weep (probably not literally), folks!

Characters: 7.7/10 (The characters were great, except for Spider-Man Noir which I forgive since they were a lot in here in the first place. And Doc Spider which I don't like because he is such a throwaway. I am a little tired of characters being introduced to pretty much be used as a living prop device. Not even a single line, at least none memorable. In fact, the more I think about him, the more I wish there was more done with him. Doc Spider, we hardly knew ye. But seriously, now I am wondering what his back story was like.)
Story/Writing: 7.5 (Basic story/tie-in to Spider-Verse. And set up for the actual plot of this arc.)
Ending: 9/10 (...that ending man. Both with Earth 000 and the final scene.)
Entertainment: 7.5/10 (Very interesting issue and makes me look forward to the rest. Also, I was surprised to see a Spider-Woman introduced especially since I thought it was Spider-Gwen.)

In my original outline Doc Spider had a bigger role, but as I wrote it I realized it just didn't work. So...yeah, it's my fault, but, hey, maybe I'll tell his story one day. I do know it btw. I could tell you what his Earth's Avengers are like.
Spider-Woman does use Spider-Gwen's costume, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is her. That'll be a mystery for the next five or six issues.
And that Earth-000 scene I do have very serious plans for. Plans that may tie into the 1985 one shot, Ultron, and my previous crazy Timey Wimey plans.

Send me a pm about Doc Spider's Avengers? As I said many time, I am a sucker for anything Multiverse related.

This issue was just as well written as everything else you've done, but I have no goddamn clue what the hell is happening in Spider-Verse, so I was a little lost. I liked it for the most part though. Especially if this somehow ties into 1985, Ultron, and all your previous time travel stuff that you mentioned above.

A group called the Inheritors are going around the Multiverse killing Spider-Men/people with spider powers. SpOck is recruiting Spider folks to stop them. That is all you need to know.

Thanks. The only thing I really knew was that Spider-Gwen is the coolest Spider-Person ever (fact, not opinion).

It wasn't bad. It wasn't great. I know you wanted to tie into the comic event, but I think it was way too early in your run. It derailed the overall story. You should have been continuing the Osborn story and letting us get to know this Peter more. What you wrote was fine, but I think it took away from everything else. Except for introducing Spider-Woman
Keep em coming.

So you let your fanboyism get in the way of competent writing. Got it.
.../sarcasm since it is a proven fact that almost never translates well on the internet.

To be fair, competent writing and fanboying usually go hand-in-hand if done right.
That's my half joking response to your sarcasm. Although it is really, really true.

I liked the issue. I was disappointed in the overuse of Superior Spider-Man and the underuse of Noir Spider-Man.
So, we are Earth-727, huh? Pretty awesome.
I haven't been reading Spider-Verse either so I have no idea why they're all there. Why wasn't the mainstream Spider-Man there? That would've been interesting.
I wasn't bored by this issue, but I never got too excited. That is until the ending. Hydra will play a big part in my Invincible Iron Man title so it's good they're having some establishment.
This issue: 8/10

Because this actually an Edge of Spider-Verse tie-in where Amazing Spider-Man hasn't join the war yet.
Edit: To clarify, before 616 Spidey knew that people were being hunted, folks like SpOck and Spider-UK started recruiting people. This is apparently set before SpOck gained at least a following of 10 Spider folks or so.
