Basically, it wouldn't make sense if Mainstream Spider-Man was here instead of Superior Spider-Man.

Wasn't Spider-Man Noir killed in his own reality before SpOck started forming his team? I'm not reading Spider-Verse but I'm hearing people talk about it a lot and I remember people getting annoyed Noir got killed early, or was that someone else.
That's the only 'complaint' I have with this issue, it was a good tie-in issue.

SK explained it, and no, he wasn't killed. I promise. He almost died but SpOck saved him.

That was certainly action packed.
The various timelines and AU worlds were a little hard to follow, but the army of spider people showing up was certainly fun. And Hydra always brings fun to the table.

Thanks for the review! I promise there won't be any more crazy AU'ness in Spidey's near future.

#3:
I'm definitely loving the continuing story. You're definitely staying unique from your previous Spider-Man run. I guess at least part of that is because this is Peter and not Miles, but I'm really enjoying some classic Spidey action, even if I do think you're committing sacrilege with that hoodie instead of the traditional Spidey suit. Humor's great as usual. Everything's got that Spidey flavor, but nothing's predictable. You've hit the sweet spot of fanfic-writing, capturing everything that was great about the original without copying or telling the same tired old story. You're making it very difficult to find things to complain about.
But there's always nitpicking! Not buying Felicia getting the same quality pictures as Parker, considering Parker's "advantage" (or maybe he's just been playing it too safe). Even with "super luck" which seems to be the implication. If it's something more explainable, then kudos on the misdirection.
Web design. Heh. Tiger. Jackpot. Heh.
Calling Toomes 'my lord' may be a bit much, but screw it. This is Power Rangers level scenery chewing and I love it.
#4:
Ooh, nice twist with Parker being discovered. And it's not done in a way that breaks suspension of disbelief either.
Nitpicking, but Captain America is more of a famous historical figure at this point than a famous superhero since only a select few people know he's alive.
You keep saying you're writing Harry as a goth, but I'm not seeing it. A little more morose than other incarnations, maybe, but not goth.
And now we get to this part...
#5:
This whole multiverse-Spidey thing really bugs me, pun not intended. The implications are that you've just defined the whole site's multiverse for everyone. Remember when you made English really Galactic Common and said that Kree taught the language to humans and everyone kind of flipped a lid? For me, this is that times infinity, literally since we're dealing with the multiverse here. You've basically 'claimed' the multiverse for Spider-Man, except without any heads up for everyone else.
It's actually difficult for me to review the rest of the chapter. I'm actually glossing over most of the MultiSpider fight, as it's confusing anyway with a lot of really odd names like 30s and Superior. Apparently you're tying this in with an actual comic event? I came to this and UDC to get away from the canon. Maybe I have to be following the comic event in order to appreciate this?
I don't know. Maybe I'm just overreacting. If this was just a side OVA issue or something with no connection to the rest of the site's title I could get behind it.
For now, I guess the healthiest thing for me is to just pretend that didn't happen and hope the next issue is back to good ol' Spidey goodness. Spider Woman isn't some leftover from another universe, right? I've been looking forward to this character since you mentioned she might be an Avenger.

It's been incredibly fun to write! There's a little bit more to the Felicia pics thing, but luck was a lot of it. As for Harry....well, I'll work on it more in the future. The Spider-Verse tie in was a one time thing. I saw an opportunity and I took it. Sorry for that. As for the multiverse, well, I'd always imagined the All Star-verse fit in somewhere, just like the MCU does. We have an infinite number of worlds to play with, so ignore those mentioned here (which are in Marvel canon). Spider-Woman was supposed to make you (and especially the Amazing Spider-Man comic readers) think Spider-Gwen i.e. a Spider-Woman from the Multiverse. She is not Spider-Gwen. Well, maybe she's Gwen, maybe she's not (it's supposed to be a mystery), but she's NOT a multiversal Spider-Gwen.

Good issue. Just a character piece for the most part. I understand its in character, but I'm getting sick of awkward Peter. Not that he shouldnt be, but it's a bit much. Especially reading his thoughts on top of his dialogue. Maybe it's just me.
Keep em coming.

Yeah, I understand how that could get annoying. I'm trying to portray him like a real teenager, one with very limited experience with women no less. He'll grow up more in the coming issues. Expect a noticeable change when the time jump comes around.

Not much to say other than I liked it, as usual. I like that this focused more on Peter than on Spider-Man. The ending definitely got me excited. Hopefully things will get more suspenseful.

#7 is up! And thus ends the Rise of the Sinister Six, which I realize now might have been a bit of a misnomer. To be fair, half the team got their powers, so....
Anyway, tell me what you thought of it!
Next time, we skip three months into the future!

The Spidey vs. Electro fight was cool, and it was great seeing Spider-Woman again. Overall a good issue. I am a little skeptical about DD's first All Star appearance being in this title, but if you're planning a solo title for him, that relieves most of my issues.
While it's great to see all this Spidey action, don't forget the other half to the character: Peter. Sure, Spidey is known for his web-slinging and his clever wit, but don't forget that under the mask, we have a man. A man with just as many problems in his regular life as there are in his super hero life. I really want you to work on that. It'd be cool to see some of his regular problems edge over to his super hero life, and vice versa.
This issue: 8/10

This issue: 8/10 Daredevil is one of my favorite characters in comic books, so have no fear (see what I did there? ). He'll be treated well. Plus, think of it this way. Black Panther and Dr. Strange both will and have appeared first in Dark City, and Agents of SHIELD, well, speaks for itself. I think the important thing to keep in mind is that yes, he will be a supporting character at first but it's with the intention of spinning him off into his own title. Imagine it like Barry Allen's appearance on Arrow, only considerably longer. I definitely have a habit of lingering more on the Spider parts of Peter's character, and less on the Man while it probably should be the reverse. Don't worry though. I realize that and am working on it. Next arc has a lot of both, and his dual lives will definitely start to bleed over into each other. Thanks for the review! You're nearly always first to comment and I've gotta thank you for that!

This issue needs to be re-titled. I officially dub it: Amazing Spider-Man #7 - I. AM. CAWK!
So pretty good. Definitely some surprises. I agree we need some more time on Peter. I think our upcoming crossover will give us some. I was a bit surprised at the symbiont appearing so soon, but with a Venom being claimed I imagine it had to. The fight was fun. Gwen's scene with Blackie was fun. Keep em coming.

Great issue. I thought you had Miles down, but you also have Peter down as well. I have soft spot for Harrison Snow thanks to All-New X-Factor and you're doing a spot on job with him too.
I also forgot about the whole Venom thing (don't ask how, because I don't know), despite me being very excited for aman's Knights. The ending was also good, I love how sad and - dare I say it - incompetent Vulture looked. I love those types of villains.

Imagine it like Barry Allen's appearance on Arrow, only considerably longer. Part of the reason why I dropped Thunderbolts was because I felt kinda bad I was snubbing potential writers from titles focusing on Hulk, Punisher, Ghost Rider, and Deadpool. I will say that I think writers with multiple heroes in their titles shouldn't have 100% control over them if the heroes in question could have their own title (i.e. Dr. Strange, Captain America, etc.). I think we should really push for this site to have more solo titles than team titles. I'm not pertaining to AXM or X-Factor, for obvious reasons, but I think Guardians, Agents, and Dark City should have spin-offs. Oh well. If DD will eventually get his own title, I guess I have no problemo with him first appearing in this one.

That's where you and I differ. I have no expectations for the site other than that people are respectful to one another and we focus primarily on Marvel characters. Which titles arise is up to the writers who create them. We can't specifically determine what types of titles other writers think up. If you do, you end up with DC's New 52, and none of us want to be like that.
NOTE: I actually enjoyed the New 52, but there's no doubt it butchered the uniqueness of the DC Comics line.

This site's done a good job of keeping continuity straight, unlike the early New 52, which was pretty shit. Now though, the New 52 has kind of come into it's own, which I appreciate and enjoy.
Thankfully the post reboot All-Star universe had come into it's own from day one, which I also appreciate and enjoy.

Sorry for being late to the show.
Right from the beginning I had issues with this...well, issue. This problems comes from that little seen with Peter and Felicia. The way you described Felicia and the way Pete was looking at her was...unsettling. I'm not a fan of getting a glimpse at a character's perverted thoughts, unless the character in question is known for being a pervert (which Pete is most certainly not). The way Felicia was flirting with him made me uncomfortable. Yes, she has always been a flirt, but she has also always been a tad more subtle with her flirting. The way she flirted with him in this issue was far from subtle. The touching, the clothing... *Shudders* But what really unnerved me was this line:
Felicia smiled gently, “You solved the problem by rebooting the system.”
Peter threw on his pea coat and winked at her. “Looks like my luck is turning around.”
Where the %^©# did Pete get the confidence to say that?! It's just so...out of character! I'm sorry, dude, I understand that you probably want to add to Peter's character, and I support you for that, but there is always a risk of adding too much and going too far. This was it. "Looks like my luck is turning around" is a line Pete would definitely say, but it's a line that he would say to himself, not some weird girl who had just a few seconds ago asked him to "show him that spark in private." Why did Felicia even say that to him?! Is there something he has that she's after? Does she have a motive? It's so weird to see these characters with such little chemistry be in a situation like this.
Y'know what? I'm just going to erase that scene from my memory. There. Gone. I did that because the rest of the issue gets really good after that scene. We see Spidey get in a hilarious fight with Z-lister Captain Boomerang. Then we see Kingsley stage an attack on a stadium.
Then we get to what is probably the highlight of this title: Peter and May visiting Ben's grave. This scene was so touching, and brilliantly written to boot. You did a spectacular job of reminding us why Peter is Spider-Man in the first place.
It's really weird that this issue had both the worst moment in this title as well as the best moment in this title. You have several aspects of Spider-Man down pat. But there are still some things you need to work on.
I'll put it this way: Whenever Peter Parker talks, I don't hear Peter. I hear you, Drake. I know that that's a weird thing to say, but that's the simplest way for me to put it. My advice: re-read BMB's earlier issues of Ultimate Spider-Man. Pay close attention to how different Peter and Spidey are, even though they're the same person. Your biggest problem, I think, is that you tend to seep Spidey's personality into Pete's. Please, take my advice. You wanna add some things to his character? Great! Go for it! Just know that each and every one of us has a little bit of Peter and a little bit of Spider-Man in us. That's why we relate to him so much.
I apologize immensely for my rant. I give this issue a 7/10. Weak beginning, but very strong middle and end. And dat cliffhanger tho! I got chills from reading the last three or four lines! I'm pumped for the crossover, and I know that it'll be great.

First off, thanks for reviewing! You're the only one who's read AND reviewed it so far.
I definitely see where you're coming from about Peter's characterization during that scene, and I certainly think I didn't handle it in the best way, but it's not as OOC as your seem to think. For one, you mentioned Bendis' USM. Peter literally joined the basketball team, was the star player, went to parties and flirted with Liz Allan, all because he was feeling that he was on the top of his game (no pun intended). This is essentially the same situation, only literally everything in Peter's life is going right, which is the point. When things are up they must come down. So, is Peter the same shy, introverted kid he was in previous issues and in certain scenes in Amazing (616) and Ultimate Spidey? No. That's on purpose. He's changing, but he's also acting differently because he's so confident right now.
As for the perviness, I'm trying to tone it down. However, I've never encountered a teenage guy that wasn't somewhat of a pervert. It's part of the American teenage culture and, y'know, hormones. Peter can't help how he thinks. It's even fairly true to the comics, if exaggerated. Just look at a DD/Spidey crossover a couple years back. Black Cat featured heavily, and Peter was all over her. To be honest, I added that for a variety of reasons. It fleshes his character out further, makes him a more grounded human, and potentially adds some awkwardness to the scene (which was intended). Moreover, it tests Peter. My BC will be all about that. Can Peter overcome his hormonal drive, anxiety, depression, etc. and stay true to his relationship with Gwen? That's the question I'll pose.
I've read or interpreted Black Cat stories differently than you have, because I've always seen her written as very flirty, sexual, and willing to use her body for gain. She's like Catwoman in a lot of ways, or Black Widow. She wouldn't actually do anything, but she'll use her looks to get something from people. And yes, she's trying to get something from Peter. I didn't make that clear, but that's what's happening. It'll be explained in the future.
I'll definitely try to work on what you mentioned (namely too much Spidey, too little Peter in his personality) in the future, but I think your critique ultimately comes down to your opinions on who Peter Parker is, and not fact. Characterization is interpretation as long as you stay true to the core motivations and personality. Ultimate Peter is radically different from 616 Peter, and I think it's fairly obvious that I take most of my inspiration from Ultimate Peter Parker.
As for the rest, I'm glad you liked it! I'm sorry for my counter argument; I just think you're stating your opinions as fact. The perviness...well, you're right about that. I added it, but it's certainly not inaccurate as long as he doesn't act on his feelings.
EDIT: Having just reread the scene, I definitely think Peter's confidence shines through in a way that makes sense. His life is going great, so he feels great. The line about his luck even points to that. Peter's perviness also isn't as bad as I remember. He only gives Felicia a glance once, and it's incredibly short.

I guess that's where my interpretation goes wrong. Most of the Spidey stories I've read are angsty/dark, so Pete's confidence never shines through in them. I have read a few stories where things are going right for him, but what I've seen from those is that Pete is able to channel his confidence. Plus, are things really going right for him in this title? He's still under Normie's thumb, he's got super villains after him, JJJ's still roasting him, he's probably having a hell of a tough time in college, all sorts of things. And we all know that happy moments in Pete's life don't go on for too long. There's always something in his personal life or his super hero life that'll shake things up for him. I know what scene you're talking about in USM, where he and Liz are at a party, and she's drunk. She was flirting with him, not the other way around. Plus, he didn't go to the party. He was at Kong's house, and Kong just started it. Wrong place, wrong time.
